The Multi Layer Varistors (MLV) of SFI are SMD varistors typically designed for the lower voltage range to protect electronic circuits again surge voltages. Due to their construction they can handle high impulse currents in extremely small volumes. With a response time of about 0.5ns and relative low capacitances they are also suitable to protect high speed datalines.
The manufacturer Inpaq, a member of the PSA group (Passive System Alliance), offers surface mount varistors in addition to its AEC-Q200 qualified multi layer varistors to meet the increasing demand for SMD varistors.
